Technical and Historical Notes

The pinnacle of Newtype-use machines during its time, the Griefer units served as test beds for the Psychoframe that would eventually be utilized in the MSN-06S Sinanju. Neo Zeon used valuable data from past Psychoframe cockpits as well as stolen works from Anaheim when creating these machines. Five units were created, each with a different role to play, but all designed with Newtype pilots in mind. The basic frames were constructed much the same, consisting of Gundarium Alloy. Despite the various roles these machines played, they were made with little armor plating, with the intention of making them fast. While their speed and acceleration is nowhere near that of the Sinanju's, they are still rather formidable. They lack the ability to make the same fine-movement, but again they are dedicated machines that have become a good offensive measure against the Federations Jesta production line.

The YAMS-130C was designed as a sniping, sporting the fixed armaments of the combining heat knives and two heat wires. The heat wires are very similar to the Heat Rod of the MS-07B Gouf. However, as stated the weapon is a retractable wire and thus is much thinner in design which makes it harder to see even when heated up. As, such it can not detain a opposing suit as could the Heat Rod, but can still trip them up if used properly. It produces an electrical discharge that can surge most equipment on a mobile suit. The MIP-X94-E3-Type Beam Sniper Rifle III is a direct upgrade to the sniper rifle used by the MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type. The C-Unit sports an auxiliary power supply in order to power the rifle, a cue taken from the Zaku I Sniper Type. However, this supply's output is rated at 1000 kW. The cameras and sensors in the head unit have also been updated and improved to allow for better accuracy. The fin at the front of the head unit has been outfitted with an antenna inside, allowing for short-range wireless communication as well as for detecting the surrounding environment parameters, such as the degree of atmospheric scattering at different times, the air-specific heat, and even wind speed and dust content. These parameters will be transferred to the machine's OS environment-specific calculation module, which will enable the pilot to take the most accurate shot possible. For space combat, the machine is able to reference data collected by its launching-ship and even other supporting units in order to obtain even more data and this function works within the atmosphere as well. As of UC 0095 the C-Unit is still in the possession of Neo Zeon's 'Sleeves'.
